Stewardship is the recognition that all we have is a gift from God and is to be used to serve God and enjoy God.
The Stewardship Committee’s responsibilities include:
- Providing an annual financial commitment opportunity that allows the Grove community to pledge their time, talent and treasure in support of the church budget and all of Grove’s ministries.
- Promoting the stewardship of accumulated resources through wills and bequests, and major gifts such as stocks.
We typically hold an annual stewardship campaign in the fall which provides an opportunity for explicitly expressing one’s gratitude for the blessings that God provides through submitting a pledge card to indicate the giving to be made in the following calendar year. These non-binding expressions of financial commitment can be changed at any time if your circumstances require. We routinely collect these pledge cards throughout the year as new members may join after the fall, and wish to make a pledge of giving for the current year. Just complete the faith-promise-card-worksheet and drop in the collection basket, send it to the Grove office, or leave it in the Financial Secretary’s mailbox.
The Stewardship Committee serves the congregation and supports the mission of Grove. They do this by helping individuals understand what their unique talents are and how they can best utilize them in discipleship, outreach and/or worship within the Grove community.
Along with the financial commitment, there is a Spiritual Gifts Survey that is completed by members of Grove to indicate where they can contribute to the mission of Grove Church. It helps to identify areas where their skill sets can be best utilized.
Completed surveys can be used for your own personal benefit to identify your areas of strength, dropped into the collection basket, or provided to the Grove office in order to get connected with the opportunities that might be your best fit.
