Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is charged with managing the Property, Equipment and Investments owned by Grove United Methodist Church. The Trustees also serve as the corporate board for the legal entity Grove United Methodist Church. The church property includes:
- The sanctuary
- The education building
- The previous office
- The current office (previously the parsonage)
- All the property surrounding these buildings
The Board of Trustees is led by its president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. There are 9 members of the Board and each one is assigned to particular areas of responsibilities. These include all the listed buildings as well areas in and around them, such as the elevator, kitchen, closets and storage areas, utilities, fire alarms and extinguishers, key fobs, pre-school liaison, sound systems, the phones and internet and the seasonal flowers and shrubs.
The Trustees also have a number of vendors to help us with the upkeep of all these areas that include:
- Our Custodian / Housekeeper
- Lawn service
- Snow removal
- Pest control
- Service Contractors including:
- Electrical contractors
- HVAC contractors
- Plumbing contractors
- Roofing contractors.
The Investments are managed through the oversight of the Grove Permanent Endowment Committee.
It is not an easy job to keep up with all the needs of Grove Church and its members. The Trustees appreciate and could not operate without the many volunteers who offer their time and talents on our Spring and Fall Workdays to do the many jobs the Board just doesn’t have the time and money to do.
The Trustees will continue to do the best we can to keep all our properties safe and in good working order. It is a large job and sometimes things may be missed.
