 Prayer Shawl Ministry

Grove’s Prayer Shawl Ministry makes and provides prayer shawls for family members and friends of Grove who are going through a difficult time. This gift will let the recipient know that their Grove friends are there for them. Prayer shawls are also given in recognition of a special event, including baptismal shawls for all who are baptized at Grove. Smaller prayer squares are also
ianeavailable as reminders that someone special is in your thoughts and prayers. As a prayer shawl is made, prayers are offered for the recipient and each one is blessed before it is given to someone.

The prayer shawl group, chaired by Diane Caspar and Ann McCann, meets monthly, on the second Wednesday of each month from 1:00-3:00PM, June through September.. New members are always welcome. You do not have to be a seasoned knitter; the group is very open to helping newcomers. You also do not have to attend each month; most participants do some knitting on their own at home. The ministry has been in existence for over 10 years and has distributed over 200 shawls.

Finished shawls are available in the Z Lounge for delivery to those in need. This meaningful ministry provides a way to assist these members and friends spiritually and serve as an outlet for those wanting to have a small group atmosphere and meet the needs of our congregation.
