Lithograph Presented By Good Works
A Portrait of Good Works now Displayed at Grove
If you haven’t already, take a look at the new picture hanging in the Elevator Lobby just outside of Fellowship Hall. A Portrait of Good Works was created on May 21, 2016 by acclaimed artist, Bryn Gillette . Before an audience of Good Works staff and faithful friends, Bryn captured, live on canvas, the essence of Good Works through the testimonies of people whose lives have been transformed. According to Bryn, “Prophetic Painting is being sensitive to what the Holy Spirit is doing in a particular time and space, and faithfully capturing that on canvas.” Lithographs of this painting are presented by Good Works to each homeowner at Home Dedication ceremonies.
The lithograph presented by Good Works is a painting full of symbolism. The Good Works logo is a central element. Look closely and you can see the tiny figures of the workers within the structure. An ancient hammer rises above the letters wielded by the hand of Jesus. It is He who compels Good Works to pursue its purpose of repairing homes and restoring hope. In the upper right portion, the scaffolding upon which angels are seen symbolizes the spiritual aspect of Good Works’ mission to extend the love of Jesus Christ to those it serves so they may experience salvation through Him. Finally, look closely at the background to see portions of handprints made on the blank canvas at the start of the evening by the faithful in attendance and incorporated into the painting by the artist, Bryn Gillette.
