A Quiet Christmas Service will be held on Monday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m.

The holidays mark a time of cheer, celebration and joy but they can also be a time of feeling a bit sad or down in the dumps. The strong emphasis on family and togetherness can emphasize the loneliness of those who have experienced the death of a loved one or who are separated from loved ones for some other reason. Concerns about life circumstances, financial situation, moving to a new community, employment, health issues, and reflection on regrets from the past or anxiety about the future can contribute to a feeling of being sad or overwhelmed during the holidays. Even the pressure of holiday preparations and activity can get to us. Grove United Methodist Church offers a quiet time and way to celebrate the hope of Christmas without having to feel guilty that we may not be feeling cheery. The service will include special music, scripture, silence, reflection, healing prayer, and candle lighting. Refreshments will be served following the service. Please feel free to call or email Pastor Lin if you have any questions about this service. 610.350.9372 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
