Zumbathon September 27, 2014

Zumbathon for a Cause Takes Place September 27th!


Saturday September 27th come for 90 minutes of fast-paced aerobics led by a tag time of six certified Zumba instructors who are donating their time to raise funds for orphan needs in the very poor African country of Malawi.  Men  and women, teens, and children 8 and older are  welcome--no experience necessary.  The event is co-sponsored by HomeAID for Africa and the Grove’sAIDS Task Force.  Participation donation is $12 per person before September 23, $15 per person after that.  For registration forms (required) visit www/homeaidforafrica.org/events or email to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.      The six instructors, who teach in a variety of area venues, are Jeannine Ingraham, Emily Kihara, Kelly Miehl, Denise Nuqui, Elizabeth Streit, and Mary Ann Sasondoncillo (“Zumba MAS,” pictured here).  More information about each is posted on www.homeaidforafrica.org.

    An anonymous donor will be matching the funds raised by this activity.


GriefShare at Grove Church

If you have lost a loved one or friend due to death we hope that you will consider GriefShare at Grove. GriefShare is a 13 week support/educational program designed to help those who are experiencing grief navigate the journey from mourning to joy. Included topics are "Living with Grief" and "Why?". The next session will be on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. beginning September 10 and concluding December 10. We will not meet the week of Thanksgiving. The registration fee of $20 covers the expense of the book and program. Scholarships are available.


On November 22, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon we will be offering a special event  titled "Getting Through the Holidays" to the congregation and the community. . Anyone who has experienced loss will benefit from this session as the holidays approach.

Please watch for more information about "A Quiet Christmas Service" - a special service for anyone who has experienced loss (death and other losses).
